DR FREDDIE YOUNG

HOLY LAND TOUR

11 Days

April 14-24, 2010

$3,295 from Myrtle Beach

DAILY ITINERARY

DAY 1-APR 14: We depart Myrtle Beach today for our flight to the Holy Land via Newark, New Jersey.

DAY 2-APR 15: TEL AVIV - Shalom—Welcome Home! We arrive in the Holy Land this morning and are met by 7th Dimension Tour’s local representative at Ben Gurion Airport. We board our bus and drive to the Diaspora Museum (recommended by best seller: 1,000 Places to See Before You Die) at Tel Aviv University. We then take a short journey through Jaffa which is near our hotel on the coast of the Mediterranean sea in Tel Aviv. The rest of the afternoon is free for resting or walking the promenade along the beautiful, blue Mediterranean Sea.

DAY 3-APR 16: We depart Tel Aviv this morning and drive to Caesarea to see its ancient seaport and Roman theater. We continue to Mukhraka on Mt. Carmel for a spectacular view of the area, then tour Megiddo in the Valley of Armageddon. We continue to our kibbutz hotel overlooking the Sea of Galilee.

DAY 4-APR 17: Our first visit is to the museum that houses the 2,000 year-old fishing boat, The Jesus Boat, discovered in the Sea of Galilee several years ago during a period of draught. We journey across the Sea by boat to Capernaum. We visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, and then Tabgha and St. Peter’s Primacy Church, where one may wade at the water’s edge in the Sea. We end our day at the baptismal site on the Jordan River where those who wish may be baptized. (Bring your swim suits.)

DAY 5-APR 18: This morning we drive up into the Golan Heights where we see the United Nations outpost at Mt. Bental, overlooking the Israel/Syrian border. We experience a beautiful view of the Sea of Galilee area from the Peace Garden. We next journey through the Jordan River Valley to

Bet She’an for a tour of this truly amazing archaeological

site. Afterwards, we drive down to the Dead Sea on the lowest road on earth. On the way, we stop at Qumran and view the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947.

DAY 6-APR 19: Our first adventure today will be a tour of

Massada, the exceptional Herodian fortress near the Dead

Sea built by King Herod. It was here in 70 AD that Jewish

zealots took they and their families’ lives rather than be enslaved by the Romans. Next we drive to Ein Gedi, the oasis

on the Dead Sea where David hid from King Saul. Later this

afternoon, one may “swim” or float in the Dead Sea, or take

advantage of one of the spas available in the area or at your

hotel. (Spa fees not included.)

DAY 7-APR 20: We depart to Tel Be'er Sheva an archeological site in southern Israel believed to be the remains of the biblical town of Be'er Sheva. The modern town of Beersheba is situated west of the tel. The town is mentioned numerous times in the Bible often as a means of describing the extent of the Land of Israel, as being from Be'er Sheva to Dan. We next board our motor coach and ascend UP TO JERUSALEM!!!

DAY 8-APR 21: Today we drive to the top of the Mt. of Olives for a view of Jerusalem before taking the Palm Sunday Path down to the Garden of Gethsemane. We enter the Old City and visit St. Anne’s Church with its wonderful acoustics and the Pool of Bethesda. We then go to Mt. Zion and see the Upper Room and the Tomb of King David. This afternoon we drive out to Bethlehem (political climate permitting)and see the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd’s Field. We will have some time for shopping in one of the many gift shops in Bethlehem. Olive wood carvings are a specialty.

DAY 9-APR 22: We enter the Old City through the Zion Gate. We visit the Jewish Quarter and walk along the Cardo Maximus. We then view the Western Wall and the Temple Mount where we see the Dome of the Rock and the site where the temple once stood. Next we visit the Southern Steps of the Temple where we see Robinson’s Arch along with other recent fascinating archaeological finds. Later we drive to Yad Va’Shem, the memorial museum dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust. At some point during our tour, we will walk through the Rabbi’s Tunnel that is under the Temple Mount, north of the Western Wall.

DAY 10-APR 23: This morning we tour the Garden Tomb, where we see Calvary and the “empty tomb.” We have a communion service and time for private reflection in the beautiful garden. We then depart Jerusalem and venture about 20 miles south to the area where David fought Goliath in the Valley of Elah (I Sam. 17; 21:9). We will see the stream (or dry river bed) where David obtained his stones, the Brook Elah...a truly authentic site! We have a farewell dinner at our hotel tonight and then proceed to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. We depart late this evening on our non-stop flight to the U.S. We leave Israel with a new fervor in our hearts and spirits to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem (Sha'alu Shalom Yerushalayim) Psalm 122:6.

DAY 11-APR 24: Arrival at Newark. After going through U.S. Customs, we connect to our flight back to Myrtle Beach. We return with a new understanding of God’s Word, new friends, and memories to last a lifetime.
